12th International Meeting of Historic Opel : the open-air museum of the brand with the lightning bolt circled will be held in Ferrara – Saturday, September 14, 2024

Ferrara, September 14, 2024: Opel Fans Italy and Opel Manta A Fans Italy are back to propose the traditional Italian Meeting of Opel Classic, a gathering of absolute importance dedicated to Opel cars built with rear-wheel drive until the mid-1980s.

Opel Fans Italy is an association formed by a group of friends/fans born to integrate the Opel Manta A Fans Italy which, since 1996, with great passion, has been working to bring together all the Italian Opel fans, by organizing meetings, exchange of technical information and help a fans to finding spare parts, in order to join friends who share the same passion for everything concerning vintage Opel.

From the three founders, Luciano, Raimund and Carlo, during these years, many new friends have joined, with a group that today boasts more than 1500 fans, who by combining their passion have made the Historic Opel, also in Italy, a source of pride in owning an important piece of history, not only automotive, but also for everything that Opel has produced since 1862 (bicycles, motorcycles, cars, etc.).

As always, Opel Fans Italy and Opel Manta A Fans Italy’s priority, is to give an important setting to the Opel Classic and, also this time, the organizers will work on the task of bringing together Opel fans from all over Italy and Europe for the 12th edition, all of this thanks to the Patronage of the Municipality of Ferrara.

Ferrara is an ancient city, crossed by many Reigning Dynasties and has reached the present day in the full splendor of its history, culture, art and music. The city is suspended between history and legend, which still today boasts countless magnificently preserved masterpieces: among these is the large and beautiful Piazza Ariostea, ready to host the Historic Opel in a unique setting. Saturday, September 14, 2024 Ferrara awaits fans of the lightning bolt circled to show all its countless beauties.

Piazza Ariostea will be perfect for both, logistically to arrange the Opel Classic and, without a doubt, to also welcome the “special” Opels (sports, racing and special) which will be able to reach the event without problems even if transported on a trailer.

The program will include a static exhibition from 9:30 to 17:30, a shuttle bus will be available to accompany participants from Piazza Ariostea to Piazza Castello, with visits at your leisure to the historical sites of the city and its museums; from 12:30 to 14:00 the participants will be free to have lunch in the various restaurants of the historic center with typical local menus. The event will conclude with the awards for the Historic Opels voted by visitors and participants.
